Area Sales Manager Job Vacancy.

Job Summary
Reporting to the General Sales Manager, the Area Sales Manager will undertake business canvassing; merchandising of products; product distribution and availability; market intelligence; manage customer service and people development.

Responsibilities
* Business canvassing: prospect for new customers; plan business development with larger customers; analyze performance of the key accounts; set distribution route targets and make sure they are realized.
* Merchandizing: analyze competitor’s displays and prices; gather information on competitor’s products and brands; provide out of stock and brand assortment information; avail products and plan for promotions.
* Customer service management: ensure proper invoicing and timely deliveries; manage customer enquiries, debts and credit days; ensure adherence to blank and postdated cheque policy.
* Product distribution and availability: ensure company product availability in all outlets; ensure listing of new products; organize new product sampling to create awareness; provide product samples to traders.
* Market Intelligence: give out Market Research about competitors; analyze business trends of organizations brands and competitors, general industrial behavior of customers and consumers; report business and marketing trends of the organizations products; understand competitors place in the market by category and channels; provide feedback on competitor activities to the brand manager
* People development: train and coach account developers, merchandisers and distributor sales representatives in the designated region.

Requirements
* Degree in Commerce (or similar), majoring in marketing.
* Over 5 years experience in sales in an FMCG industry
* Initiative/ Integrity /Common sense.
* Leadership skills, Business Insight / Team Spirit & Player / Flexible
* Sound negotiation skills
* Knowledge and awareness of financial implications and awareness.
* High-level attention to detail.
