Kenya Pipeline Company Limited is looking for suitable candidates to fill the following positions.

1. SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
Reporting to the Chief Accountant

JOB PROFILE

Coordinating the functions of several
sections.

Expected to assist in the development and
implementation of financial controls and
procedures.

Work will be subject to overall review rather
than to specific checks and also, includes
tasks outside normal routine, for example
investment and capitals appraisal and
review including accounting for capital and
investment projects.
PERSON PROFILE


Bachelor of Commerce degree or equivalent
qualifications from a recognized university.

Passed Part III of the CPA Examination or
equivalent.

Have demonstrated professional
competence in handling accounting duties.

Have served for a minimum of five (5) years
relevant experience in a large and busy
organization.

2. SENIOR CHEMIST
Reporting to the Chief Chemist

JOB PROFILE

Efficient administration and co-ordination
of the section, effective performance and
development.

Advise and update on prevailing
international quality control standards,
maintain good working relations with key
dependants on the section.

Assist in reviewing and implementing quality
control policy and programmes.

Able to supervise and appraise the staff.

Able to organize work, in-charge of quality
control functions in the region.

PERSON PROFILE

Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry
from a recognized university.

Have served for a minimum of five (5) years
relevant experience in a large and busy
organization.

Have demonstrated commendable skills at
co-ordination and management of a quality
control section.

Must be conversant with safety precautions
in handling petroleum products.

3. QUANTITY SURVEYOR I
Reporting to the Chief Projects Engineer

JOB PROFILE

Study, interpret and take out quantities from
engineering and architectural drawings and
prepare estimates.

Prepare budget estimates and implement
approved maintenance programs for civil
engineering facilities and buildings.

Prepare contract documents such as Bills
of Quantities, Schedule of Materials and
Specifications for use in preparing tender
documents and procuring quotations for
materials and works.

Carry out analysis of tenders and prepare
evaluation reports on tenders and
quotations received and maintain a list of
current material and labour rates.

Assess and value works for progress
payments, variations, claims among
others and carry out other related contract
administration duties.

PERSON PROFILE

Bachelor of Science degree in Building
Economics or Quantity Survey from a
recognized university.
• Have served for a minimum of five (5) years
relevant experience in a large and busy
organization.

• Be a Registered Quantity Surveyor with
the Board of Registration of Architects and

Quantity Surveyors (BORAQS).
• Be a Corporate Member to a relevant
professional body e.g. AAK. IQSK.
• Have strong well developed written and
verbal communication and interpersonal
skills including ability to prepare relevant
reports.
• Have proficiency in Computer Applications
such as MS Office, SAP.

Have demonstrated professional knowledge,
competence, and ability to shoulder the
professional duties and responsibilities at
this level.

4. ENGINEER I (OPERATIONS)
Reporting to the Depot Manager

JOB PROFILE

• Product scheduling, planning design,
development and operation of the pipeline,
directing and controlling operations.

Undertaking more advanced master plan
studies and complex operations of the
pipeline.

Supervision of complex operations activities
of the pipeline.

General administration, supervision and
training of Assistant Engineers, Technicians,
Operators and Artisans.

PERSON PROFILE

• Bachelor of degree in engineering field such
as Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Chemical
from a recognized university.
• Have served for a minimum of five (5) years
relevant experience in a large and busy
organization.
• Be a computer literate.
• Have a thorough knowledge of safety
regulations.
• Have demonstrated self initiative,
professional diligence and responsibilities.
• Registered by the Engineers Registration
Board of Kenya and be a Corporate
Member of the Institute of Engineers
of Kenya or Corporate Member of a
Professional Engineering body recognized
by the Institution. Those who have applied
for registration will be considered.

5. SENIOR TECHNICIAN (MECHANICAL)
Reporting to the Engineer 1 (Mechanical)

JOB PROFILE

• Detect and carry out repairs on the pipeline
in conjunction with other functional officers.

Assist in the general administration of the
maintenance unit in a pump station.

Will be responsible for attainment of
maximum availability of equipment and
ensuring uninterrupted operation through
continuous maintenance and servicing.

Promptly attending to any breakdowns and
emergencies in the section for efficient
and effective pumping of white petroleum
products.

PERSON PROFILE

• Higher National Diploma in Mechanical
Engineering or its equivalent from a
recognized Institution.

Registered by the Engineers Registration
Board of Kenya as a Technician Engineer.

Served as a Senior Technician for five
(5) years working experience in a busy
engineering environment gained from a
large organization.

Have demonstrated professional and
responsibilities in work performance.

Have a thorough knowledge of safety
regulations.

Capable of organizing work and supervising
staff.

Have Knowledge on computer.

Have good communication skills.

6. TECHNICIAN III (MECHANICAL)
Reporting to the Senior Technician
(Mechanical)

JOB PROFILE

• Expected to work under a senior
technical staff and may assist in
implementing the maintenance
programmes as appropriate.

Will carry out preventive breakdown
maintenance under close supervision of a
Senior Technical Staff.

PERSON PROFILE

• Ordinary Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
or its equivalent from a recognized
Institution.

Served as a Technician in equipment
maintenance for at least three (3) years
working experience in a busy engineering
environment gained from a large
organization.

Have a thorough knowledge of safety
regulations.

Have Knowledge on computer.

Have knowledge on supervisory skills.

Have good communication skills.

7. TECHNICIAN III (OPERATIONS)
Reporting to the Senior Technician
(Operations)

JOB PROFILE

• Expected to work under a senior technical
staff in carrying out day-to-day routine
operational activities in connection with the
product receipt or the product movement
within and out of a pumping station and
assist in implementing t h e
maintenance programmes as appropriate
and carry out preventive breakdown
maintenance.

May also be assigned scheduling duties or
be assigned supervision duties such as shift
leader.

PERSON PROFILE

• Ordinary Diploma in the relevant
Engineering field such as Civil, Mechanical,
Electrical and Electronics or its equivalent
from a recognized institution.

Must be a computer literate.

Three (3) years working experience.

Have a thorough knowledge of safety
regulations.

Good understanding of maintenance,
operations, health, safety and environment.

Good analytical skills and must be physically
fit.
