Crisis Action is an international, non-profit organisation which aims to help avert conflicts, prevent human rights abuses and ensure governments fulfill their obligations to protect civilians.

We operate in a flexible manner with partners choosing to engage in temporary 'opt-in' alliances on specific crises.

The support we provide is determined by the specific circumstances of each crisis and may include:

Warning of emerging crises and prompting early responses
Sharing information and analysis between partners
Research and analysis of Government policy
Facilitating partner dialogue
Negotiating joint policy platforms
Coordination of agreed partner action plans
Planning and executing joint campaigns
Evaluation of the effectiveness of joint responses to crises

Other Crisis Action offices are in Berlin, Brussels, Cairo, London, New York and Paris.

Reporting to: The Africa Director Period of Internship: 6 Months
Duty Station: Nairobi Employment: Full time with modest stipend Conducting ad hoc research.
Staying abreast of Conflict situations around the globe, especially in the Sub-Sahara Africa context
Assisting in coordination of advocacy initiatives
Basic book-keeping of accounting records
Organizing various events as the need arises
Running day to day office operations
Regular communication with other international offices for updates or organization’s work PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES OF THE INTERNA deep commitment to the tasks allocated to them
Transparent and holds self with high integrity
Quick to learn and adopt in new environments
Ability to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure
Creativity and Independent mindedness
A team player with a flexible and positive attitude Masters Degree in Social Sciences such as International Relations and Political Science
Interest in issues surrounding ongoing armed conflict in Africa particularly in Sudan and South Sudan.
Some knowledge in basic book keeping practices
Administrative and office organizational skills
Computer literacy with thorough knowledge on use of Microsoft office applications including Microsoft Outlook and Internet proficiency.
