Plumber
Job Ref: REF/P/06/17
Reporting to the Facilities and Civil Works Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following amongst others:
- Carries out corrective and planned maintenance duties of all hospital plumbing services and fixtures.
- Carries out installation of new services and fixtures.
- Identifies materials including spares to be used in the day-to-day maintenance of plumbing services and new works.
- Review blueprints and building codes and specifications to determine work details and procedures.
- Prepare written work cost estimates and negotiate contracts.
- Study building plans and inspect structures to assess material and equipment needs, to establish the sequence of pipe installations, and to plan installation around obstructions such as electrical wiring.
- Locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, and fixtures in structures.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Certification as a Plumber.
- At least three (3) years’ experience as a skilled plumber preferably in hospitals.
- Familiarity with plumbing services and equipment associated with hospitals.
