Human Resources for Health (HRH) Kenya is a USAID funded project implemented by IntraHealth International Inc. The goal of the project is to strengthen the human resources for health systems in Kenya at both the national and county levels and ultimately improve health outcomes for the Kenyan people. In order to strengthen its team, HRH project is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the following position.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the incumbent will provide support in the Finance and Accounting function.
Take a lead on checking timeliness, accuracy, completeness and adequacy of supporting documents accompanying liquidation for Activity and Travel imprestGenerate and process adjusting journal vouchersPreparation of monthly bank reconciliationsTake the lead in compiling accruals in relation to all unpaid obligations (including salaries) at month end ensuring that all amounts are captured accurately, traceable to the source documents and coded to the correct projects.Co-ordinate the month-end Field financial reporting process to ensure timely and accurate monthly financial reportsReconciliation of General ledger accounts between Field financial reports and centralized HQ accounting reportsProvide support in compilation of various donor and internal management finance reportsProvide support on monthly budget verses expenditures variances monitoringManage the payables accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy of accruals ledger and suppliers ledgersManage the Receivables accounts to ensure completeness and accuracyManage the deposits accounts to ensure that necessary expendable amounts are expensed on a timely and accurate basisManage the duty and tax exemptions process by ensuring DAI forms are prepared in a timely and accurate manner and ensure accurate recording of VAT transactions in the general ledger.Oversee the management of the petty cash system ensuring that the laid down policies and procedures are adhered to.Provide support in the processing of Suppliers payments and Travel/Activity advances via the applicable mode of payment: EFT, MPESA and chequesProvide support to the Grants portfolio as requiredA bachelors degree in Accounting or equivalent fieldAt least 4 years working experience in busy accounting department.Experience in USAID rules & regulations is an added advantageMinimum of CPA I1 with proficiency in QuickbooksWell developed Interpersonal skillsProficiency in Microsoft office packages with good Excel skillsHigh integrity, honesty, initiative and team-playerIf you meet the above qualifications please apply by sending your CV with a cover letter indicating your daytime telephone numbers, address and names of three referees who must have been your supervisor in your current or former employment to kenyajobs@intrahealth.org.Closing date for applications is April 28, 2014.
