The Competition Authority of Kenya (the Authority) is a statutory Agency established under the Competition Act No.12 of 2010.
The Authority’s mandate is to promote and safeguard competition and also protect consumers from unfair and misleading market conduct.
The Authority invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following positions:
Competition & Consumer Protection Division
Administrative Assistant
1 Position
This position reports to the Director, Competition & Consumer Protection Division.
Duties and Responsibilities
Administrative
- Support Organize divisional meetings, e-mailing notices of meetings to staff and giving out the agenda on time.
- Organize the Director’s diary/appointments.
- Oversee the security of office records/classified materials, equipment and office machines.
- Coordinate travel logistics including following up on allowances, travel documentation and organizing for the relevant mode of transport.
- Oversee the smooth running of outsourced support services including tea, water and cleaning services and other hospitality services as required.
- Coordinate divisional petty cash as per the prescribed procedures
- Maintain inventories of office equipment and supplies, monitor utilization of consumables and requisition of additional supplies
- Respond to office telephone enquiries and routing calls to appropriate officials
- Receive official visitors and walk in customers by ascertaining the nature of business and directing them accordingly.
Clerical Support
- Type documents, record dictation in shorthand and transcribe in written form as assigned
- Maintain records and information system and file tracking system on a daily basis in a secure and confidential manner.
- Prepare draft responses to routine office correspondence as assigned.
- Receive stamp, record and dispatch letters.
- Assigning folio numbers/cross references to correspondences
Required Qualifications
Education and knowledge
- Diploma in public administration or a business related field; and
- Proficiency in ICT
Experience
- At least 3 years administration or secretarial experience gained from reputable organizations;
- Experience in customer service.
Skills and Competences
- Good public relations skills;
- Technical skills;
- Ability to communicate;
- Report writing skills; and
- Numeric skills
Corporate Services Division
Administrative Assistant

This position reports to the Director, Corporate Services Division.
Duties and Responsibilities
