Our client a Manufacturing entity is seeking to hire a Civil Team Leader.
Purpose Statement: Carry out civil engineering work in a manner which ensures that both professional and SHE standards are met and maintenance costs kept to a minimum.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Plan and allocate work to staff
- Undertake major maintenance, modifications and upgrades of civil works and provide leadership to the Works Teams
- Supervise the work of contractors and their staff
- Requisition materials from the stores and issue to maintenance teams
- Continually assess the competence of the maintenance team and offer the necessary coaching support to team members
- Ensure compliance with technical and SHE standards together with general regulations and procedures.
- Lead, guide and train others so that all civil engineering work is done in the most effective way in terms of cost, timescale, SHE and technical viability
- Plan and prepare for civil engineering work so that such work can be carried out in the most timely and effective way
- May be required to prepare engineering drawings for planned work, from time to time
- Stay abreast of technical developments and trends in the field of civil engineering
Knowledge / Skills / Experience:
- HND in civil engineering
- Proven experience in township and road maintenance
- Involvement in minor civil related projects
- At least three years’ experience in a similar role
- Good communication, interpersonal, leadership and planning skills
