Intern Job in Kenya - IT Support

Job Summary: Mwanzoni Ltd is a young and growing company that

deals in project and programme management – real estate.

The incumbent will provide IT technical support to the team by performing

installation, maintenance, testing and troubleshooting tasks.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
 

• Planning and delivery of IT support services.


• Performing a combination of duties; phone
  
  support, desk-side technical support and bench-top diagnosis and repair.


• Perform authorized installation, upgrades, and
  
  maintenance for system OS, network, security, and storage solutions.


• Resolving team related technical software and
  
  hardware problems in accordance with established policies and procedures.


• Providing user management account support; and
  
  coordinating device files for software applications following established
  
  procedures.


• Create accounts for new hires and Migrate
  
  users to new machines.


• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot and provide
  
  expert level support for a wide variety of areas including: specialized
  
  database management, server solutions, project planning and
  
  implementation, web-based solutions as well as ongoing needs for the
  
  organization at the software and hardware level.



• Focus is on consistently providing best in
  
  class support through collaboration with our faculty, staff, and
  
  researchers to update and improve business processes using Information Technology
  
  solutions.

Website Administration and Database

Development / Management

• Provide technical expertise in the creation of
  
  new application releases and reports through data modelling, performance
  
  tuning, and implementation of physical database changes.


• Prepare users by conducting training,
  
  providing information and resolving problems.


• Design in-house data retrieval and data
  
  management systems.


• Recommend solutions by defining database
  
  physical structure and functional capabilities, database security, data
  
  back-up and recovery specifications.


• Creates and updates web content, systems, and
  
  applications to develop, maintain, and support Mwanzoni websites.


• Assists in coordinating with Mwanzoni
  
  departments and developing upgrade plans for Mwanzoni web requirements,
  
  maintenance, operations, and support issues; ensures efficient
  
  maintenance, support, and troubleshooting.


• Adding, maintaining and improving existing
  
  product and category pages for all company websites.


• Proactively recommend online content to meet
  
  company goals.

• Must have knowledge of using, deploying, and
  
  configuring user machines in a fast paced environment


• Prior experience using Active Directory
  
  (creating user accounts, adding computers to AD domains…etc)


• Knowledge of LAN, WLAN, and how they work with
  
  Windows systems

Education: Pursing a Bachelor’s degree in computer information

technology, management information systems, or other information technology

related field, to include course work in local or wide area computer network,

from an accredited college or university.
