The
National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) is a State Corporation
established under the National Transport and Safety Authority Act 2012.
Its overall mandate is to implement policies relating to road transport and safety.
NTSA is seeking to recruit qualified staff for the following position:
Risk Management Officer
Ref: NTSA/11/2015/11
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with coordination of the implementation on Enterprise wide risk management framework, policy, procedures and systems in order to minimize Authority’s risk exposure and fraud activities.
- Contributing to effective management and reporting of risks exposure and fraud activities.
- Facilitating the carrying out of risk assessments to determine the risk profile of the Authority, identifying risk control capacity gaps and exposure in the Authority’s operations, governance, ICT and financial operations.
- Participating in devising improvement strategies for the enterprise-wide risk management mechanisms and controls.
- Managing the Authority fraud risk assessment and prevention procedures and maintain and update the Authority’s risk register.
- Assist in assessing the appropriateness of internal policies, procedures, and guidelines, make recommendations for amendments where necessary to mitigate the identified deficiencies.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the Authority’s risk management system.
- Monitoring and evaluating the status of risk management and general compliance of the Authority.
- Performing any other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Degree in Commerce, Accounting or Finance.
- Training in Risk Evaluation and Management.
- Completed CPA or ACCA.
- 2 years of relevant experience in a reputable organization.
- Initiative and self-drive for high quality performance.
- Ability to write reports and proposals.
- Good communication skills both spoken and written.
- Excellent team working skills, good organizational and social skills.
- Attentive to details, accurate and a keen observer.
- Highly organized with good time management skills.
