Job Title: Customer Support Engineer
Based: Nairobi but with some international travel
Staff Responsibility: None
Job Objective:
- Responsible for providing 2nd line support to customers' networks and field staff both locally and remotely.
- The Customer Support Engineer must currently be eligible to work in Kenya, as client needs a fairly prompt start, and also must have local Kenyan knowledge.
- Minimum of 3 years experience of working on microwave radio networks
- Knowledge and understanding of setting up IP networks in WAN and LAN environments
- Experience of direct customer contact.
- Knowledge of third party products associated with WAN, LAN, and 2G/3G deployments
- Knowledge and understanding of setting up and testing E1 and Ethernet networks.
- Experience of Linux and/or Windows Operating environments, support and installation.
- Other useful skills include knowledge of fixed access/PMP radio, transmission system deployment, setting up and testing radio systems, network management.
- The Customer Support Engineer will have experience in providing customer support in person, over the phone and via email.
