Position: Hotel Manager
 

Job Station: Kwale County
 

Job Purpose: A local company is looking at opening a hotel in Kwale.

The company therefore seeks for the services of a qualified and experienced Hotel Manager who will manage the operations of its Business by overseeing all aspects of running a hotel from housekeeping and general maintenance to budget management, purchasing supplies, marketing as well as guest/customer satisfaction and managing employee performance.

Duties include:

• Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations.


• Planning and organizing accommodation, catering and other hotel services


• Promoting and marketing the business;


• Recruiting, training and monitoring staff;


• Setting and achieving sales and profit targets;


• Planning work schedules for individuals and teams.


• Planning work schedules for individuals and teams


• Customer relations with the aim of retaining and gaining customers


• Managing budgets and financial plans as well as controlling expenditure;


• Analyzing sales figures and devising marketing and revenue management strategies;


• Dealing with customer dissatisfaction and comments;


• Addressing problems within the team and troubleshooting


• Dealing with contractors and suppliers


• Ensuring security is effective and carrying out inspections of property and services;


• Supervising maintenance, supplies, renovations and furnishings;  upkeep and sanitary standards of hotel facilities


• Conducting physical walks and inspections of the hotel facilities and public areas, and additional duties

Job Requirements:

• Degree in Hotel Management


• At least 6years experience in the Hotel Industry


• At least 2 years in a management position in a hotel setting.


• Ability to think clearly and make quick decisions.


• Good Business & Planning skills.


• Energetic and Enthusiastic.


• Ability to balance customer and business priorities.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• Flexibility, Teamwork, Multi-tasking and Listening skills
