The New Partners Initiative Technical Assistance Project (NuPITA) is a four-year USAID-funded project working in eight countries (Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia) to provide technical assistance to fifteen organizations working in HIV and AIDS.

The project, under the New Partners Initiative (NPI), is a core program of the President’s Emergency Fund for AIDS Relief’s (PEPFAR). NPI has been created to build the capacity of organizations that work at the community level and support the long-term response to HIV & AIDS. The project is being implemented by John Snow, Inc.

NuPITA is seeking dynamic, competent and highly motivated person for the following position:

Designation: Financial Accountant
Reports To: Finance Manager / Compliance Specialist
Position Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Job Summary:
The Financial Accountant role is primarily responsible for the provision of financial accounting support through accurate recording processing and delivery of financial activities.

Key Responsibilities:
* Support accurate operation of efficient accounting systems, in compliance with JSI and USAID obligations;
* Plan Procurement in accordance with JSI policy and USAID requirements;
* Preparation of field accounts and reports
* Compile VAT Returns and processing claims;
* Prepare timely monthly cash flow projections;
* Process monthly payroll payments;
* Process and follow up on staff travel advances and ensuring timely accountability.

Required Qualifications:
* Holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Business Administration (Accounting option), ACCA, CPA, CIMA part qualification will be an added advantage.

Experience
* Minimum of three (3) years professional accounting experience in an International NGO , preferably USAID funded, knowledge of USAID policies would be an added advantage;
* Excellent computer and database skills: Microsoft office, Excel, & Quick Books Accounting package;
* Excellent financial and budgeting skills and experience;
