The National Museums of Kenya (NMK) is a multi-disciplinary state corporation whose core mandate is identification, preservation, conservation and development of Kenya’s rich and diverse heritage. We are seeking to recruit exceptional Kenyans with strong administrative, organizational and leadership skills and extensive experience in areas of specialization to fill the positions below:

Financial Controller


Reporting to the Director General, the Financial Controller will be entrusted with planning, monitoring and implementation of the organization’s financial and accounting management strategy Duties and Responsibilities

Overall co-ordination, control and direction of the NMK’s financial resources and policies;Accounting and coordinating of budget estimates, formulating and planning;Preparing financial management and project accounts;Carrying out budgeting forecasting; ensuring compliance by use of appropriate accounting systems, standards and procedures;Maintaining statutory accounts and preparing appropriate financial reports to the management, Board of Directors, the Government of Kenya and Donors;Establishing and maintaining effective internal control systems;Liaising with Treasury through the Parent Ministry on all Government of Kenya policy matters relating to financial management;Liaising with external auditors, the National Audit office and the Controller and AuditorGeneral on financial management issues.An MBA, a university degree plus full professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCABe a member of ICPAK-KHave served in a senior Finance or Accountant position in the Public Service or a large private sector organization for a period of not less than five (5) years;Thorough knowledge of Finance and Accounting principles, procedures and practicesExperience in computerized accounting and auditing systemsExcellent communication skills.Terms: Initial appointment will be on a three-year contract, which will be renewable based on output and mutual agreement.Salary Scale: KES. 96,590 – 134,205 per month, a house allowance of KES. 40,000 per month and other incentives.

The organization implements projects in Primary and Preventive Health Care and Treatment, Secure and Sustainable Livelihoods, Child Support and Protection and Gender and Human Rights Programs

The organization is seeking for a Financial Auditing Firm. 

The auditors shall make a report to the members of the accounts examined by them and on every Balance sheet laid before the Organization at it Annual General Meeting (AGM)during their tenure of office, and report shall state:
Whether or not they have obtained all the information and explanations they have required.Whether, in their opinion, the balance sheet referred to in the report is properly drawn up so as to exhibit a true and correct view of the state of the Organization’s affairs.Will be required to be present during the AGM meeting(s)  Perform as per letter of engagementRequirements;

The auditing firm must be registered, has been in existence for at least Six (6) years and has conducted audits for the last four (4) years.

The firm is expected to submit Curriculum for two of its senior auditors.

Programme Manager - Public Financial Management

Manage, administer and monitor the technical and financial progress of Danish supported programmes within the Kenya Governance Support Programme (KGSP) — Public financial management (PFM) component;Develop and improve the collection of relevant data for analytical work to support the RDE’s implementation of the present KGSP programme as well as the formulation of new interventions;Maintain and engage with a broad network of relevant partners including Government of Kenya, independent offices and commissions’, donor representatives, civil society organisations, research institutions, the private sector and academia; andMonitor, analyse and report on economic developments and indicators in Kenya relevant for the implementation of Danish development cooperation programmes.Person Specifications:

Our client is looking for a Group Financial Controller to be based in Nairobi.
 The Role: Based in Nairobi and reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, the role will support our client’s double digit growth vision by engaging and providing effective support to our three bottler operations. Accountable for Business Control, Group reporting and Business Planning shall ensure accurate, reliable and timely consolidated financial reports supported by deep dive analysis. The role will be in charge of the business planning process and follow up to ensure that the business delivers on its short term and long term financial goals; keeping a keen eye on business performance metrics to inform proactive management decisions. Forecasting business cash cycle, ensuring adequate funding will be a key responsibility as well as developing the management reporting capabilities across the Group.

The Person: We are seeking a self starter who is proactive, analytical, driven and committed to success and can influence in a matrix environment.  
This is a key role in our client’s firm that often involves assisting in areas other than finance. He/she need have manufacturing experience, be versatile and willing to learn. The person will have five years experience with proven ability in business control, management analysis/reporting and /or due diligence investigations. You will be travelling within Kenya to business operations’ located in Kisii, Mount Kenya and Rift Valley. He/she will be a bachelor degree holder and CPA/CFA/CIMA with high proficiency in MS office. FMCG and ERP experience will be an added advantage.

Financial Accountant

Duties and Responsibilities
