Legal Affaris Manager Job Vacancy: Three Green Apples Consulting Advert

Our client, a global player in the ICT sector, is looking to fill the position of Legal Affairs Manager.

Reporting to the Legal & Regulatory Director, the purpose of this position is to ensure that all practices, policies, and business activities of the organization fall within the bounds of the organization’s legal posture by providing advice and counsel to general management level and line managers concerning the laws that impact their functional areas.

Key Responsibilities

The main responsibilities in this role include:
  • Analyzing the legal implications of all the activities of the organization to ensure that the company conducts all its activities and operations within the existing legal framework
  • Identifying potential legal risks in the company and serves as an internal early warning system to management
  • Legal drafting of all agreements including but not limited to leases, and contracts for employment, commercial transactions, and supply agreements
  • Promoting an effective intellectual property strategy, function, process and system to protect and enhance the intellectual assets of the company
  • Executes and manages appropriate legal action in response to litigation suits filed against the Company by external parties and prosecutes third parties when company rights and/or interests are violated.
  • Manages and coordinates the activities of the Legal department and ensures that they are within budget and in line with company strategy as communicated from time to time.
  • Develops and promotes within the various departments an effective environmental policy, and reporting process within the organization so that the company’s activities comply with local laws and borrowing arrangements as well as group requirements.
  • Deputizes for the Legal and Regulatory Director in his/her absence
Minimum Requirements

The incumbent must possess the following minimum qualifications and competencies:
  • A University Degree in Law and must be an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya
  • Eight (8) or more years post Bar admission experience with an emphasis on corporate and commercial law, with a minimum of five (5) years leadership experience
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must be IT literate and proficient in MS Office
  • Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • The ability to operate in a performance driven organisation
  • Exposure to company secretarial duties would be an added advantage
The successful candidate will have business awareness, demonstrate strong analytical skills and problem solving skills and have hands on attitude.

He/she must have high work standards and be goal oriented exhibiting excellent interpersonal skills, and both excellent oral and written communications skills.

He/She will demonstrate culture sensitivity, be a team player with the ability to fit into a dynamic and entrepreneurial organization.
