Agriculture in Somalia Evaluation Specialist Sought


Description


International Business and Technical Consultants Incorporated (IBTCI) is recruiting an Evaluation Team Leader to help execute a Task Order issued by the USAID/East Africa /Somalia Office. As the holder of the Somalia Program Support Services (SPSS) contract, IBTCI will be conducting an evaluation of an economic growth program in Somalia, with a focus on agriculture.


This position is based in Nairobi, Kenya with travel to Somalia, and is full-time, tentatively beginning in June 2015.


The assignment includes the following tasks:


· Review relevant project documents


· Help organize training sessions for interviewers regarding collection of data


· Help develop survey related documentation including: instrument, instructions and training materials in English and Somali


· Help provide oversight of data collection


· Follow international quality control standards and quality assurance procedures


· Ensure adherence to standard USAID requirements (disaggregation by sex, region, etc.)


· Recommend use of appropriate data collection tools


· Help develop users’ guide for the data, including a description of all variables collected


· Help produce a final report that covers all results and includes summary tables of survey data.


The Agriculture in Somalia Evaluation Specialist should meet minimum qualification requirements:


· In-depth knowledge of best practice for agricultural value chains;


· Strong knowledge transfer skills;


· Professional knowledge of MS Office applications;


· Familiarity with the Somali agricultural economy;


· Excellent communication (written and verbal) in English;


· Excellent communication (written and verbal) in Somali strongly preferred
