The position is responsible for delivery of quality academic education, superior performance and high standard co-curricular programs and activities by the Upper Primary section of BoH Academy.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the planning and implementation of academic and co-curricular programs and activities in Upper Primary section.
- Draw up teaching and examination timetables for the Upper Primary section. Take reasonable teaching load in the Upper Primary section. Able to teach Maths Social studies and English.
- Supervise the preparation of scheme of work and lesson notes by teachers in the Upper Primary section.
- Guide and instruct teachers to ensure that the curriculum is delivered in an effective, efficient and successful manner.
- Arrange for substitution (absentees) in the absence of any subject or class teacher to ensure there is no loss of time.
- Coordinate the preparation, administration and marking of examinations for the Upper Primary section.
- Undertake periodic review of records kept by subject teachers and class teachers to ensure they are accurate and current.
- Ensure that health and safety rules and procedures are adhered to by teachers and pupils in the Upper Primary section.
- Ensure that disciplinary cases in the Upper Primary section are handled prudently in line with existing procedures.
- Ensure that the learning facility and environment is clean, hygienic and safe for learning.
- Coordinate the preparation of weekly and monthly schedules of activities from teachers.
- Ensure that parents/guardians are informed of school programs and activities.
- Ensure that there are adequate leaning materials in the Upper Primary section of the school.
- Ensure that end of term reports are done on time and development and performance of each pupil is discussed with parents/guardians.
- Work with the Class Teachers to ensure that the classrooms are kept clean, well maintained and safe at all times.
- Address emergency cases reported in the Upper Primary classes immediately.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time by the management.
Qualifications for the
- Qualified teacher status: P1 Certificate or any other recognized equivalent qualification.
- Determined personality with initiative, perseverance
- Capability and willingness to take responsibility
- Ready to comply and live up to and in accordance with the organization Ideals and Core Values
- Demonstrates high regards for accuracy and reliability
- Willingness and ability to work in a team environment
- Attend and participate in the daily devotions both for the staff and in his/her class
- Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above ethnic/denominational diversities.
- At least 5 years teaching experience.
