The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), is established under the Environmental Management and Co-ordination Act No. 8 of 1999 (EMCA) as the principlal instrument of Goverment for the implementation of all policies relating to environment . EMCA 1999 was enacted against a backdrop of 78 sectoral laws dealing with various components of the environment, the deteriorating state of Kenya’s environment, as well as increasing social and economic inequalities, the combined effect of which negatively impacted on the environment. The supreme objective underlying the enactment of EMCA 1999 was to bring harmony in the management of the country’s environment.

Responsibility
- Managing e-office, taking oral dictation, word and data processing
- Operating Office equipment
- Maintaining office diary,appointments and travel itineraries
- Attending to visitors/client
- Handling telephone calls and coordinating schedules of meetings
- Ensuring security of office records,equipment and documents, including classified materials
- Maintaining an up to date filing system in the office
- Establishing and monitoring procedures for record keepingof correspondence and file movements
- Preparing responses to simple routine correspondence
- Managing office protocol and etiquette
- Supervising office cleanliness
- Ensuring security, integrity and confidentiality of data
- Undertaking any other office administrative duties that may be assigned
Job Requirements
Qualification
- Office Management III/Office Administration and Management III
- Office Practice II
OR
- or any other relevant degree from a recognized institution
- Secretarial Duties II
- Shorthand III (Minimum 100 w.p.m)
- Typewriting III (50 w.p.m)/ Computerized Document Processing III
- Certificate in Computer applications from a recognized institution
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences plus a diploma in secretarial studies from a recognized institution OR Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: Secretarial Studies, Office Management, Business and Office Management
- Business Education Single and Group Certificates (BES & GC) stages I,II and III from the Kenya National Examination Council:-
- Business English III/Communications II
- Commerce II
- Eight (8) years relevant working experience in the public service or private sector
- Certificate in Public Relations and Customer care course lasting not less than two (2) weeks from the Kenya School of Government or any other training institution
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, mean grade C- (minus) with at least C (plain) in English Language or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
- Diploma/Higher Diploma in Secretarial Studies from the Kenya National Examination Council
