Job Summary
Reporting to the Country Manager, the Supply Chain Manager will ensure development of effective and efficient Supply Chain operations to achieve business objectives; ensure implementation of the EAR Supply Chain strategy; develop and manage demand and supply planning; customer service, warehousing and distribution, including the purchasing staff.
Responsibilities
* Develop local Supply Chain department and implement EAR strategies and supply chain best practices.
* Ensure effective and efficient supply in line with legal regulations by monitoring and managing demand & supply planning processes to produce accurate demand plans and efficient supply plans to achieve customer service level target and minimizing distribution costs.
* Optimize working capital and ensure fresh stock.
* Ensure optimum processing of orders and invoices. Manage business relationships ensuring legal compliance of products imported into the country
* Build relationship with local authorities to facilitate business operation. The Manager will ensure maximum utilization of government incentive on Exports; maximize opportunities for preferential trade blocks and ensure market competitiveness within the Kenya cluster.
* Implement Inter Market Supply Planning best practices and system.
* Coordinate Supply Chain aspects of inter-market supply process for both import and export when applicable.
* Monitor and report infiltrations/ exfiltrations within the Kenya cluster.
* Establish and ensure collaborative and efficient relationship with Sales, Marketing, Technical and Finance functions.
* Manage teams in line with Company strategy and undertake continuous improvement by implementing, monitoring and analyzing Key Performance Indicators.
* Key deliverable will include setting staff objectives, conducting performance appraisals, succession planning and managing administrative tasks.
Requirements
* Degree in Economics/ Supply and Purchasing/ Engineering
* Minimum of 5 years experience in Supply Chain
* Working knowledge of demand and supply planning and/or exports and/or customer service is essential
* Knowledge of general business, management processes and Supply Chain Best Practices
* Sound knowledge of existing regulatory affairs, customs clearance procedures, inter-markets supply operations.
* 2-3 years experience of people management
* Self confident with a strong ability for decision making under pressure
* Ability to work well in an unstructured developing environment
