About the Role
To partner with Country Directors in ensuring that Country Strategic plans are completed, reviewed and systematically implemented so as to ensure maximum impact to children across Region of Eastern and Southern Africa (RESA)
Key responsibilities of the Post
• Communication and contextualization of global strategic priorities to RESA
• Development of Regional Strategic priorities
• Facilitation of the development and implementation of country strategic plans
• Development of key performance indicators for each strategy in line with Plan global intentions
• Regular contact with Country Offices and analysis of key strategic issues facing Plans work (trends of Opportunities and Threats using PESTE) by screening of the external environment to detect and interpret policy changes and development trends for child rights in the region.
• Establishment of regional standards for the development and review of strategic plans, business plans and actual work done
• Contribute to global strategy development engaging and collaborating with International Headquarters (IH), other Regional Offices, and the National Organisations
• Being the regional point of contact for the region’s engagement in global summits/conferences, etc. from a strategic perspective
Qualifications and Experience
• University degree in a relevant discipline. Further qualifications a plus.
• Extensive experience in strategy development and strategic planning within the non-profit/development.
• International development sector knowledge and hands-on experience is required.
Location and Travel
RESA Regional office Nairobi, Kenya with an expectation of 40% travel in and outside the region.
