Key duties and responsibilities:Provide leadership in and guide the conceptualization, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the work of the Northern Kenya Regional OfficeCoordinate implementation and management of the complaints handling process, investigations and other key areas of work as stipulated under Section 8 of the KNCHR Act, 2011 and as may relevant to the Northern Kenya RegionPrepare and present quality and timely monthly, quarterly and annual reports of the work of the Regional office, including reports of financial expenditure by the Regional OfficeManage and supervise all staff of the Regional Office, including management of financial resources and fixed assetsEnsure compliance with the policies of the Commission in the running of the Regional OfficeEnsure proper flow of information and communication between the Head Office and the Regional Office, as well as with other Regional OfficesBuild and manage partnerships with both state and non state actors in the region on behalf of the CommissionAny other duties as may be assigned from time to time.A Masters degree in a Social science from a recognized institution with five years experience in a programme related environment of which at least 2 years are in a equivalent/supervisory level in a human rights related field.A Bachelors Degree in Social Science from a recognized institution with seven years experience in busy Programme-related environment of which at least 2 years are in an equivalent/supervisory level in a human related field.Good understanding of human rights and project management.Experience in human rights work and investigations(Public Affairs & Communication Department) Ref: HR/PAC/02/01

Key duties and responsibilities:Provide leadership and direction in the implementation of the Commission’s mandate through effective and efficient communication, publicity and brandingProvide leadership in and guide the conceptualization, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the work of Public Affairs and CommunicationsConceptualize, design and implement internal and external communication, advocacy and media strategies and programmes that advance the Commission’s strategic objectives and mandateExercise quality control over the Commission’s publicationsDevelop and implement strategies towards profiling and branding the Commission to enhance its visibility and accessibilityProvide guidance and support to the Chairperson as the spokesperson of the CommissionDevelop, implement, manage and monitor the Department’s budget, including financial reportingPrepare and present quality and timely monthly, quarterly and annual reports of the work of Public Affairs and CommunicationsAny other duties as may be assigned from time to time.A Masters degree in Communications and a Diploma in Journalism from a recognized institution with five years experience in a busy communications department programme-related environmentA Bachelors Degree in Communications and a Diploma in Journalism from a recognized institution with seven years experience in busy Communications Department.
