Health and Nutrition Coordinator
Location: Nairobi, with frequent field travel

Job summary:
The Health and Nutrition Coordinator will bring expertise in health system strengthening to the Concern Kenya Health and Nutrition team.
Under the supervision of the National Health and Nutrition Coordinator, the incumbent will provide technical assistance to the Ministry of Health at various levels to identify strategic approaches to improving maternal and child health and nutrition (MCHN).
The incumbent will be responsible for programme development and management, monitoring and reporting, training and mentoring of Concern and partner staff.
Summary of Essential Qualifications:
MSc in Public Health, with experience of nutrition and health system strengthening, at least 3 years’ experience in Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition programming in both a development and emergency context
Previous employment or extensive collaboration and networking with NGOs, UN and government agencies.
Two years’ experience in a management position.
Technical knowledge and experience in health system strengthening, maternal and child health and nutrition, community based health care.
Proven success partnering with the Ministry of Health.
Good understanding of cross cutting issues- gender, HIV and AIDS, DRR, etc. and how to integrate them into public health/ nutrition programmes.
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in teams.
Excellent networking and coordination skills – NGOs, UN and government agencies.
