Our client, a leading FMCG company is seeking to recruit a qualified, competent and experienced individual to fill the position of a procurement and warehouse officer.
Job purpose:
Reporting to the Managing Director will have the responsibility for establishing, and continually contributing to the efficient and cost effective procurement, warehousing and processes.
The job holder will ensure continuity of supplies, oversee inventory control and warehousing, and manage supplier relationships.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement procurement strategy and policiesForecast procurement needs and establishing lead times for various commoditiesEnsuring that international purchases are processed efficiently from order, shipping to clearing. This will include liaison with government import departments.Regular review of needs and opportunities in destination sites and source goods and commodities as per identified opportunitiesBuild and maintain effective supplier relationships to ensure that supplier performance consistently meet and exceed business expectation. This will include measuring supplier performance in terms of time delivery and qualityNegotiate and agree on price, credit and payment terms with the suppliersPrepare purchase requisitions, approve and issue purchase orders in accordance with company policy and negotiated terms and conditionsPrepare contracts for procurement of goods where necessary and maintain the documentation and other related recordsConduct first review of supplier invoices to ensure compliance with order and goods received at warehousePrepare payment request and ensure timely payment to suppliers to maintain business relationshipsEnsure supplier compliance with site and company requirements on safety standardsManage staff in the Procurement department to ensure focus on performance and that a high level of motivation is maintainedManaging the procurement budget and resources, controlling and optimizing life cycle cost.Liaise with finance department to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices, as necessary for the business with the supplierPrepare procurement reports as scheduled or on demandA Minmum of a Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies.
