Microsoft’s Middle East and Africa (“MEA”) Corporate External and Legal Affairs department (“CELA”) has an immediate opening for a Legal Counsel Intern. The position will involve shadowing the Principal Corporate Counsel, MEA MCC Emerging Markets which include Africa, Levant & Pakistan and providing first line legal support for Microsoft business in the region. The role will be located in Microsoft’s Nairobi, Kenya offices.
Responsibilities
The scope of this role will include:
- Provide general legal support in collaboration with Principal Corporate Counsel, CELA MEA Commercial Team members and outside counsel where relevant,
- Support the Principal Corporate Counsel with research and preparatory work such as comparisons, translations, checklists and summaries,
- Assist with drafting agreements for the marketing, sale, licensing and distribution of Microsoft Products and Services.
- Managing projects and communications across multiple groups,
- Assist with internal and external events and presentations.
Qualifications
- Recently graduate with Bachelor degree of Laws (LLB).
- Currently completing or has completed Kenya School of Law Advocates Training Program.
- Project management and communications skills.
- Good stakeholder and/or relationship management abilities.
- Self-motivated, with strong drive, energy and initiative.
- Confidence and ability to quickly identify, analyze and develop creative and smart solutions to difficult problems and challenges.
- Good team player and collaborator.
- Growth mindset. Regularly thinks outside the given parameters to see if there is a more effective way to accomplish the task than what is currently in use.
