Responsibilities
The responsibilities for the position include:
- Under the guidance of the MEL Specialist, support in the collection, aggregation, synthesis, analysis, and interpretation of data
- Review research, surveys, and or evaluation reports to improve quality of analysis
- Support data quality assurance for data collected from the field
- Identify challenges experienced during data collection and analysis, and provide corrective measures
- Review and maintain project MEL databases
- Setting up meetings/calls by sending out invitations, following up with participants, and working with the administrative staff to book lines and rooms
- Support preparation of MEL sections in quarterly reports
- Assist in supervising field teams
- Potential to travel to any part of the country to support data collection
- Perform other duties as assigned by the MEL Specialist.
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in monitoring and evaluations, statistics, informatics, mathematics, or another quantitative field
- A minimum two years’ experience in M&E, learning, project administration or related activities for donor-funded programs, with preference for USAID project experience
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of the Kenya health system and health information systems such as KHIS/DHIS
- Experience developing data management and collection instruments/tools; carrying out quantitative data analysis; data quality assessments; etc. preferred but not required
Skills
- Ability to follow through on multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within the context of a larger team
- Demonstrated ability to effectively use statistical software such as R or STATA
