Head of EOR and Studies
Summary:
A residential position based in Doha, Qatar.
Purpose:
The company intends to expand its competencies and reserves base by deploying and further developing its technologies into other geographical areas. In addition, technological developments are to occur into challenging areas such as deepwater operation and Enhanced Oil Recovery.
Key Accountabilities:
The role of Head of EOR and Studies is a senior position responsible ensuring that the team delivers technical input for FDP’s and IOR/EOR projects. This will cover the study phase through to implementation. Further responsibilities include taking a lead role in technical studies and leading a diverse team of experienced and high-potential engineers in meeting project objectives.
Work will include:
- IOR/EOR Studies
- Production/Injection surveillance, optimization & forecasting
- WRM, reservoir studies to optimize performance of wells and reservoirs to support field development optimization and planning
Projects will include a large project planned for 2011, in addition to smaller projects that may arise and assisting in gaining a CO² injection project in partnership.
Job Specifications:
Knowledge and Technical Skills
• Capable of delivering technical work whilst continuing to develop a team of engineers.
• Detailed experience of at least one large WAG
• Implementation and involvement in various other EOR Projects focused on carbonate reservoirs.
• Preferable additional experience as follows:
- Strong understanding of SCAL
- Strong understanding of PVT
- Solid knowledge of down hole technology
- Strong IT abilities,
Detailed knowledge of relevant software – Eclipse, Petrel, Sapphire, Prosper etc..
Education
• B.Sc. Engineering or higher degree
Experience
Relevant years in a technical reservoir engineering role within a recognized operator. A professional who has spent 5 years focused on operated EOR projects and wishes to continue developing within this area.
