Safe drinking water is an essential need of all people. Water is not always available, and when it is, contamination is often a problem. Consumers want and deserve better water quality, convenience, and reliability.
The underserved market in East Africa presents significant business opportunities for entrepreneurs. In Indonesia, consumer demand for safe and reliable water supply has spawned a $30 million per year water treatment and vending industry in a single decade.
Comparably successful industries have emerged in the Philippines and elsewhere in Asia.
Aquaya is an international NGO dedicated to improving safe water delivery to the underserved. We are collaborating with IFC, a member of the World Bank group, to support the growth of water treatment and vending businesses in Kenya.
Opportunity Description
Aquaya is seeking business partners who are willing to invest in, establish, and operate self-owned water treatment and vending businesses in Kenya. These businesses will employ water treatment technologies to produce and supply high-quality drinking water to consumers at competitive prices.
This opportunity is open to firms already active in the water treatment industry and potential
entrants. Partners will be full owners of their businesses and must demonstrate prior success
in establishing and growing businesses in East Africa.
Business partners selected to participate in our program will receive:
