In Kenya, this solution is delivered in partnership with Vivo Energy, the company which owns and operates Shell-branded fuels distribution infrastructure across Africa.
Role
As the Deployment Technician, you will be responsible for field installation and commissioning of KOKOpoints (mechatronic self-service machines which dispense cooking fuel) in retail outlets across Nairobi neighborhoods in advance of Nairobi Network Launch.
Responsibilities
- Carry out KOKOpoint installs and tests to installation and test protocols
- Collaborate with technical team and share information on test results, making adjustments where required through provided communication channels and tools
- Document activities by completing forms, reports, logs, and records using provided tools
- Ensure good work management of provided work orders, instructions, and schedules to meet daily targets and maintain high quality outputs
- Maintain assigned tools and equipment in good operating condition by following operating instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, maintaining supply levels, and performing regular maintenance
- Continuously identify needs for improvement by conveying it to supervisor and engineering team to maintain high quality work standards
- Maintain customer satisfaction through professional conduct and engagements
- Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality Management System requirements
Qualifications
- Diploma/background in Electrical Engineering
- 1+ year experience in a field installation capacity
- Comfort with simple electronics & systems debugging
- Basic software development skills in embedded systems (Arduino)
- Lab and workshop skills, including soldering, wiring, and drilling
- Aptitude to learn quickly and adapt to dynamic work requirements and schedules
- Team first attitude and ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision
- Appreciation of ISO 45001:2018 and other related safety standards
- Class F motorbike license a plus
