Job Summary
Responsible for analyzing, vetting and processing insurance claims to the satisfaction of clients in accordance with policy terms and conditions and ensuring that claims made on insurance policies are dealt with promptly and efficiently.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Providing advice on making a claim and the processes involved
- Collecting accurate information and documents to proceed with a claim
- Receiving claim notification from clients and/or Third-party claimants
- Confirming whether liability attaches in respect of the reported claims
- Advising the client on any required and/or pending documentation
- Registering the claim in the Rensoft system by capturing all the relevant details
- Ensuring prompt reporting of all claims and/or incidents that may lead to claims to the Underwriters.
- Ensuring that the service providers have been appointed promptly
- Following up of outstanding claims with Underwriters and Third-Party providers
- Communicating receipt of repair authority to the clients and other interested parties
- Monitoring the progress of all reported claims
- Ensuring prompt payment for all documented claims
- Keeping the client regularly updated with regards to the claims lodged
- Advising members on the most appropriate covers to take.
- Ensuring that insurance covers are placed promptly.
- Arranging insurance covers promptly and ensuring that all the necessary extensions have been provided for in the policy documents
- Ensuring that premiums for issued covers have been received and promptly paid to the Underwriters.
- Maintaining the necessary registers in respect of the business booked, claims reported and commissions received.
- Generating the various reports that may be required by the Management

Academic Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelors’ degree from a recognised institution.
Professional Qualifications
- Diploma in Insurance from a recognized institution (Substantial progress towards a diploma can be considered).
Experience
- A minimum of 1-year experience in the Insurance industry with good knowledge of Underwriting and Claim issues.
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes
- Sound knowledge of the Insurance products and services
- High levels of professionalism, honest with impeccable integrity (high ethical standards).
- Demonstrable business acumen and excellent communication, social and presentation skills.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to third parties and employees.
- Ability to meet reporting expectations of the Management
