Group Finance Manager Job In Kenya.

Our client is based in Kenya as a wholly owned subsidiary of a Fortune 500 company. That is part of an enlarged group that has had over 100 billion sterling pounds of assets under management.

With approximately millions of life assurance policyholders, banking customers, short-term insurance policyholders and more than 1 million unit trust accounts worldwide making our client one of the top forty asset managers of the world.

Our client is looking to recruit a Group Finance Manager reporting to the Chief Finance Officer.

Overall Purpose of the Role
This role supports the CFO in the day to day running of the Finance department and is accountable for financial reporting, analysis and planning as well as managing the issues related to tax, financial compliance and capital management. This also includes an analysis of financial records such as income trends to be able to support the CFO and the Executive team in the decision making process.

Duties and Responsibilities
· Responsible for the preparation of the financial, management reports and record keeping through the finance team and support the execution of actuarial valuations

· Liaison with the Actuarial team and ensure that there is timely and accurate provision of

financial information.

· Produce Accounts which comply with statutory submissions to ensure compliance with relevant legislation

· Financial Analysis of the business, financial and general operating information to identify trends and opportunities for development and produce management information to ensure that business developments remain financially viable

· Capital Management for all entities by ensuring optimization of available cash &

liquidity requirements and ensure optimal returns on the investment portfolio.

· Responsible for the Budgeting/Planning process and modeling whilst ensuring that re- forecasts are prepared and updated on an ongoing basis

· Responsible for the development of the Audit Plan in conjunction with the External

Auditors and AARC

· Liaison with the External Auditors and ensuring that all matters are addressed in a timely manner and management letters and financial reports are finalized in accordance with timetable

· Responsible for tax compliance and look for opportunities to minimize tax liabilities

· Ensuring compliance to all regulatory and other statutory reporting requirements

· Liaison with the Regulators to ensure compliance is maintained at all times

· Effectively managing and providing leadership to assigned team

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

n Degree in Finance

n Certified Public Accountant/ACCA
n Excellent Business awareness with minimum 5 years’ experience in a managerial position within the financial services industry

n Demonstrate good communication and leadership skills with high personal integrity

n Organized, numerate, analytical and fully computer literate

n Very familiar with the current Insurance, Retirement Benefits Authority and Capital Markets Authority regulations

n High levels of energy, drive, creativity and innovation.

n Ability to prioritize and work on a wide range of deliverables at once.

n Strong business acumen and a good understanding of the market.

n Self-starter who shows initiative and is able to drive projects to completion with minimal guidance
