Kerio Valley Development Authority (KVDA) is a state corporation established by an Act of Parliament Cap 441 of 1979 of the laws of Kenya.

It was established to plan and coordinate the implementation of programmes and projects that transcend administrative boundaries of the districts in North Western part of Kenya.

The Authority seeks to invite applications from suitably qualified individuals for the following positions.

Job Description

Reporting to the Chief Manager Technical services and operations.

Responsible for project records, documentation acceptance to customersPreparation of technical proposal reports and to establish documents’ controlsDesigning of dams and other hydraulic systems including preparation of drawing and specifications, bills of quantities etcEnsuring correct standards are maintained in the designs and implementation of projects mainly in water and general earthworksSupervision of construction of water pans and other hydraulic projects undertaken directly or by contractPlanning, directing, controlling operation and maintenance of minor water works in the Authority’s area of operationImplementing and managing infrastructure for environmental conservation, waste management, watershed conservation and to develop sustainable agricultural production systems.Training of technical support staff and other junior officers working under himEvaluation of sub-contractions performanceMust be in possession of Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Water Resources Engineering or its equivalent from recognized universityHave wide experience and professional competence in planning and design of water development projects, water pans and damsResponsible for design construction and supervision of hydraulic systems and other civil worksAt least 5 years working experience in Management levelAbility to work under pressure to meet strict deadlinesMust be above 30 years of age2. Job Description

Overseeing the overall environmental compliance of all the Authority’s activitiesSeeking and developing opportunities in regard to Environmental impact assessments Audits, Strategic Environmental Assessments, Occupational Health and Safety Assessments, Environmental certificate donor funded Environmental programmes and similar projectsInvestigations/Assessments/Audits in accordance with the project briefEnsuring that Authority services are executed in accordance and in compliance with environmental management requirementsPreparation of periodic reports for the sectionImplementation of the law and policies of the Authority relating to the environmentPreparation of annual work programmes budgets and procurement plans for the sectionBachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science from a recognized UniversityBe registered with NEMAHave a working experience of 5 yearsMust be above 30 years of age3. To provide coordination and implementation of the Authority operations/activities, in its area of operation, KVDA has opened 4 regional offices in Lodwar, Kapenguria, Iten and Marigat.

Job Description
