Job Title: Strategic Buyer
Reports to: Procurement Manager
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies and communication plan;
• Analyze and optimize the P2P process related to the spend category through the right choice of procurement tools;
• Ensure alignment between business strategy and sourcing strategy;
• Set objectives to be achieved through the sourcing strategy and monitor achievement
• Derive negotiation strategy from category positioning and negotiate to achieve the objectives defined in alignment with the business;
• Manage suppliers according to category positioning;
• Ensure that all the key suppliers within the spend category adhere to Suppliers Code;
• Integrate innovation elements from suppliers into Innovation and Renovation processes;
• Ensure the agreed service levels with internal stakeholders are adhered to.
Skills and Competencies
• Honors degree in Bachelor of Commerce or Business related field from a recognized university;
• CIPS qualification;
• Minimum 3 years experience in supply chain management in a blue chip environment;
•Experience in delivering competitive advantage to the business through development and implementation of sourcing strategies for the spend category;
•Ability to successfully lead projects and negotiate with cross functional and cross market teams;
•Good business writing skills with the ability to convince others;
• Ability to use networks to influence business activity;
• Excellent interpersonal skills with good relationship building skills;
•Ability to drive results and obtain information from a team;
•A proven team player with creative problem solving skills;
• Ability to multi task, self initiative, proactive with good presentation skills
