The IRC implements programs in the areas of comprehensive primary health care, nutrition, protection, peace building, water and sanitation and hygiene (WASH), HIV/AIDS prevention, response to gender based violence, disaster risk reduction (DRR), livelihoods and governance.
The IRC launched women’s protection and empowerment programs in Kenya in the immediate aftermath of the post-election crisis, and has initiated activities that support women and girls in Nairobi, Turkana County and the Dadaab refugee camps through a variety of activities including health and GBV prevention and response programming.
IRC is currently preparing to support the development of peace networks and platforms for women to be effectively involved in decision making and leadership. Applications are invited for the following positions:
1. Project Director, Nairobi
Reporting to the Country Director, the Project Director will be responsible for overall project management, supervision, administration, and implementation of project objectives including granting and procurement activities.
Additionally, the Project Director will be the overall lead for the project, ensuring programmatic quality and adherence to best practice throughout project implementation.

2. Capacity Building / Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, Nairobi
Reporting to the Program Director, the Capacity Building/Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist will be responsible for working with Kenya NGOs and CBOs on GBV and gender issues, providing on-site capacity building, mentoring, and training as needed and requested by partners

Reporting to the Project Director, Program Coordinator will provide regular on-site monitoring visits, and continuous remote support to the teams working throughout the country to ensure that all interventions are technically sound, take into account international best practices, and appropriate in meeting the needs of GBV survivors in relevant communities.

Reporting to the Program Director, the Gender and Conflict Specialist will advise Project and project related staff, including IRC country management, on issues related to gender and conflict ensuring that prevention and mitigation strategies are put in place at all levels of program implementation.

5. Gender Based Violence Partnership Officer, Hagadera
The IRC Gender Based Violence program implements a holistic set of services to respond to the needs of women and girls who have experienced gender-based violence and works with all actors to minimize their vulnerability to ongoing violence.
To meet the needs of the incoming refugee population, the IRC GBV program is implementing an emergency GBV response program in Kambioos Camp.
The emergency program will reflect the overall program strategy of the IRC’s GBV emergency program model, the two key elements of which are advocacy and provision of, and access to, comprehensive GBV response services.
In the longer term, GBV programming will be devolved to a local partner. Initial support will be provided by a Partnership Officer to strengthen their organizational and programmatic capacity on GBV to support the transition of GBV programming in Kambioos over a 18-24 month period.
Reporting to the GBV Program Manager the Partnership Officer will be 100% dedicated to the GBV program to initiate and oversee all interactions and support to the local partner identified to work with in Kambioos.
He/ She will be responsible for the documentation and monitoring all aspects of the partnership as IRC transition services under the GBV program to the local partner.
Duties and Responsibilities
Partnership Process Management
Work in collaboration with IRC Finance to verify, streamline, deploy and manage appropriate sub-grant agreements and Memorandum of Understanding with GBV program partner.Provide structured corrective support to the partner while evolving capacity building plans to reflect where additional focus is required.Drafting of all appropriate partnership forms and contracts in conjunction with the Kenyan country program and input from the GBV ManagerManagement of all the partnership plans including setting realistic partnership expectations with targets and indicators.Creation of a master partnership plan to guide the transition of GBV programming in Kambioos with detailed timelines. Coordination of all partnership activities and partnership development in line with the approved planWork closely with IRC GBV staff in Kambioos to ensure activities are complimentary and coordinated Develop and maintain effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders including IRC health and GBV, community leaders and other implementing partners, represent the program in all stakeholders meetings and communicate outcomes with the rest of the program staffs and partner staff. Training and capacity building
Provide ongoing supervision, leadership, training and technical support and guidance on GBV programming to partner ensuring engagement with clients adheres to best-practice principles when working with survivors. Support trainings and mentoring for partner staff and Hold regular meetings with partner and IRC GBV staff to discuss issues, problems, accomplishments, and assist in finding solutions to problems identified. Ensure continuous monitoring and evaluation so that activities are appropriate and based on a clear understanding of the problems, causes, contributing factors, and issues in individual settings. Monitor the timely submission of accurate financial and activity reporting where appropriate within sub-grantee agreements with IRC. Conduct and oversee regular partner monitoring visits to ensure that partners operate in compliance with IRC and donor sub-grantee regulations. Ensure partners provide timely reportsPrepare reports, and document lessons learned. BA/BSc in Social Work, Psychology, Development, or a related field preferred. At least 3 years experience in direct service provision for survivors of gender-based violence.Previous experience in project management in emergency setting.Thorough understanding of gender-based violence response protocols and service provision.Proven experience supervising GBV social work/case management and outreach staff.Demonstrated leadership, communication, training and facilitation skills.Experience in training, participatory techniques and community mobilization Able to coordinate multiple tasks while maintaining attention to quality and detail.Strong knowledge of computer applications, including MS Word and Excel, GBV IMS Good coordination and networking skills.Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills and flexibilityAbility to live in a high security environmentFluency in English, including writing clear and concise reports.
