This risk assessment process forms the cornerstone of the risk management & monitoring efforts of GE in Africa.
- On-going leadership of the Compliance, Statutory & Tax Filing Processes across SSA
- Coordinate project execution between Tax, GBS & business leaders at country & regional level for projects assigned by the GE Africa Ops Controller
- Transition the “outlier” legal or management entities into processes / tools that provide appropriate levels of regional oversight (especially important for recently acquired entities)
- Lead the IFRS implementation projects in the region where appropriate, ensuring engagement from all businesses.
- Ensure that GE is applying IFRS consistently across the businesses and in-line with Global strategy.
- Partner with the GE Africa Ops Controller to develop process in SSA, ensuring best practice sharing and consistency checks across all 12 GGO regions around the globe.
- Identify & drive simplification opportunities in the Region
- Lead regular tollgate reviews with the various SSA project teams where key projects are in place.
- Report progress on projects and provide inputs into key Controllership dashboards for presentation to GE Africa CFO, Global GGO Ops Controller, SSA Ops Controller & others.
- Work with HR, training & other Finance organizations to recruit, develop, retain & mentor Controllership talent in Africa for Africa.
- Become a mentor for more junior Finance staff, especially those who are considering a future within Controllership.
- Identify, design & deliver training & development opportunities to key high-potential Controllership Staff within Africa.
- Organize & Lead GE Africa’s Regional controllership conferences.
- Provide project and other updates at regional Controllership conferences
