Director, Information Communication and Technology Job in Kenya - Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company

Position: Director, Information Communication and Technology

Ref: NCWSC2012-005

Location: Headquarters-Kampala Road Industrial Area

Grade: 2

Reporting to: Managing Director

Supervises: Systems Application Manager, Database Administration Manager and Network Administration Manager

Broad Role: To plan, direct, manage and oversee the activities and operations of the ICT Directorate; administer the ICT budget, staff and give direction on technological advancements in all areas of business operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop Information Technology strategy in support of the company’s mission and core objectivesDirect, control and promote team work to motivate the staff in the Information Technology departmentDevelop and maintain strong and positive client relationsDevelop annual business plan and operating budget for the department and set quarterly and annual targetsRegularly monitor and evaluate the department’s performance to maintain focus on the set targetsRegularly monitor and evaluate the department’s performance to maintain focus on the set targetsNegotiate service level agreements with both internal and external customers and service providers and monitor service delivery to ensure the agreed targets and standards are met.Education, Professional Qualifications and Work Experience
At least 10 years experience in the ICT field of which 5 years should be at Senior IT Management levelBroad knowledge in telecommunication access i.e. Cables- Fibre Optic, Transmission and Radio, and experience in use of terminal devices e.g. Telephone Handsets and ComputersProve of formal training and knowledge in the field of wireless systems (e.g. GSM, Wifi and Wimax)Experience of managing multiple IT disciplines i.e. Networking, Data communication, Programming, and software applications etcDegree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Telecommunication/ ICTHolders of Msc in Information Systems or Computer Science will have a definite advantage.Required Skills and Competencies
