Scope: Incumbent covers supervision of the Manufacturing floor and achievement of production targets
Production Supervisor Job Duties:
Direct supervision of main floor workersEnsure machines are in good working/operational conditions and can deliver to the set maximum capacityEnsure each floor section meets its production targetsEnsure orders are met and delivery is doneEnsure production schedules are implemented accordingly without delayProvide production reports through team leaders.Ensure safety measures are implemented and OSH regulations adhered to.Ensure production meets the quality standards of the CompanyAccomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.Maintains staff by assisting Production Manager and Human Capital Division in recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.Managing time-lines and work priorities and allocating resources to meet the assigned factory time-lines and goals.Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards ensuring that the product effectively satisfies the quality level ordered by the customer.Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques and working closely with maintenance team to ensure machine efficiency..Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.Maintains working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Collects production reports from every floor section under his/her control.Knowledge and exposure: Production Planning and People Management.Experience in managing and supervising teams.Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point and/or Access) to analyze data and trends.Previous experience/best practices implementing and using continuous improvement/lean tools such as; Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc. to drive improvement.Demonstrated strong leadership, team building and advanced coaching skills.Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations, maintenance and engineering.Good planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production and maintenance needs.Good interpersonal communication and listening ability.Highly motivated, results oriented, driven.Degree in Technology/Engineering field preferably Plant / Mechanical from an accredited institution.3+ years progressive experience in a Supervisory / management role at a manufacturing facility.If you believe you have what it takes to join the Company, please send your covering letter and must indicate current and expected salary, availability, attach CV, scanned copies of your certificates and testimonials to the following address specifying the post applied for not later than 21st April 2014 ;
