Job Title: Graphics Designer
Reporting to: Production Manager
Liaisons: Plate Maker / Production Supervisors / Sales / IT
Position Function: Ensure customer expectations are fulfilled by making sure that artwork/ designs for special orders confirm to desired end products.
Position Responsibilities
- Prepare draft designs by working with Acrobat Illustrator and Photoshop Plan develop concepts by assessing information and materials provided.
- Submit draft designs for proof reading and effect any recommended corrections before printing final art on film or plate.
- Ensuring appealing creative designs that illustrate clients’ proposed concepts by designing draft /copy layout of art regarding arrangement, size, type, style, and related aesthetics.
- Obtain approval of concept by submitting rough layout for approval.
- Prepares final layout by marking and pasting up finished copy and art.
- Improving customers’ designs by giving them new designs of their choice.
- Keep records of all designed products for reference.
- Verify all job requests before proceeding with Design and Film printing.
- Ensures efficient operation of equipment by arranging for preventive maintenance.
- Effectively communicate with Plate Maker and Production Supervisors to ensure timely processing of jobs.
- Effectively adhere to policies and procedures related to artworks.
Required Requirements
- Proven graphic designing experience.
- Minimum two years’ experience in a similar position
- Possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality.
- Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio.
- Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas.
- Up to date with industry leading software and technologies (In Design, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop etc).
- Highly proficient in all design aspects.
- Professionalism regarding time, costs and deadlines.
- Self-starter, able to work and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Experience in the printing or related industry.
- Demonstrated continuous improvement.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks to completion and prioritise appropriately.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Great ideas and who can think out of the box.
- Strong sense of teamwork and ability to work cross functionally with minimal supervision.
- High level of integrity.
