Production Engineer Vacancy in Miritini, Mombasa, Kenya

Our client is seeking to recruit a qualified person to fill the position of a Production Engineer based in Miritini, Mombasa, Kenya.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Work Manager, the job holder will be responsible for overall supervision and motivation of the staff and in charge of all production resources within the Otto mill. 

He will be involved in the organizing, planning, coordination and control of manufacturing processes within the Section to ensure that goods and services are produced and provided efficiently at the right cost while observing specifications as per the established company policies and procedures and in close liaison with the works manager.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for daily supervision, motivation, training and developing, setting clear expectations, reviewing progress, providing feedback and guidance, and holding employees within Enterprises Production Unit accountable in accordance with the laid out company policies and procedures;.


• Overseeing the production process, drawing up a production schedule, execution of the schedule and accounting for raw materials received and used in production;


• Ensuring that new products are developed as per the orders of clients generated from commercial departments;


• Ensuring that the production is cost effective; estimating products costs and working out manpower planning required for production;


• Ensuring that products are produced on time and at the right quantities;


• Coordinating and monitoring with the Quality Control and marketing departments the implementation of the QMS programs; ensuring that all quality and standard operating procedures are being followed quality of products is not compromised;


• Ensuring that production equipment are well serviced, maintained and in good working conditions and that the work areas are in hospitable condition as per stipulations;


• Ensuring that all the necessary production records are maintained, updated and kept in accordance with set procedures;


• Liaising with other departmental heads to ensure that the company’s policies, goals and objectives are met;


• Ensures that the Company’s health and safety policies are enforced at all times within the department’s operational areas in close liaison with the HR department; and


• Any other relevant duties as assigned by the management.

Persons Specification
 

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Requirements :

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.


• Minimum of (4 -5) years.

Key Competencies:

• Knowledge of Tube mill production


• Excellent communication skills.


• Effective relationship management skills.


• Solid organization, analytical skills and ability to work with processes, numbers and statistics.


• Able to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
