Job Vacancy


Finance and Administration Officer


Kenya Cancer Association is the umbrella body of individuals and organizations who share the commitment to address the cancer problem in Kenya. Our membership is drawn from ordinary Kenyans, healthcare professionals, patients, cancer survivors, caregivers and researchers involved in or with an interest in cancer. Our core mandate is to raise public awareness on Cancer as well as mobilize stakeholders to prioritize cancer in their programs.


JOB PURPOSE:


The Finance and Administration Officer is expected to drive best practices in financial management, administration management and human resources management within the organization to maximize efficiency and growth.


The position reports to the Executive Director.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Manage Financial Planning, Monitoring and Reporting


· Oversee the implementation and management of the KENCASA financial management policy and procedure


· Prepare and maintain financial forecasts in consultation with the Executive Director including the annual budget and financial plans


· Manage accountability relationships with funding partners and support the Executive Director in designing and implementing appropriate financing tools for Kenya Cancer Association


· Design appropriate financial due diligence procedures, and internal control systems and perform regular financial appraisals of KENCASA projects


· Ensure efficient financial monitoring and reporting including monitoring expenses and revenues, reviewing and upgrading existing procedures and ensuring production of appropriate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders


· Ensure high quality accounting including overseeing day to day accounting and managing the year-end audit process


Administration Managementand Procurement


· Oversee the implementation and management of the KENCASA administrative policy and procedures


· Provide high quality administrative support and oversee general administration and office management duties.


· Oversee travel arrangements and monitor travel expenditures, and Ensure compliance with relevant local regulations


· Ensure compliance with internal administration and procurement policies and partner requirements


· Manage and co-ordinate the procurement processes, provide advice, assistance and follow-up on, supplies , and contracts.


Human Resources Management


· Oversee the implementation and management of the KENCASA human resources policy and procedure


· Initiate and coordinate the staff recruitment processes and other human resources management and development actions


· Initiate and coordinate annual staff appraisal procedures


· Manage all payroll related activities


JOB SPECIFICATIONS


Mandatory requirements


· Minimum 5 years in financial and administration management


· Master’s degree in Finance or recognized professional certification (such as CPA,ACCA, CMA, CFA)


· Knowledge of Kenyan accounting practices and relevant laws


· Strong financial management skills


· Fluent English with excellent writing and verbal communication skills


· Excellent Excel skills


· Strong organizational and leadership skills

· High level of autonomy at work, yet with profound team-spirit


· Adaptive, patient, resilient and flexible
