Expression of Interest (EOI) for Provision of Dairy Farmer’s Marketing Strategies

Introduction: Maasai Kajiado Women Dairy Co-operative Society Ltd is a marketing cooperative owned by dairy farmers from the larger Kajiado Central District. 

The cooperative has an active membership of over 5,000 members with its dairy catchment cover about six divisions of Kajiado County (Magadi, Mashuru, Central, Isinya, Namanga and Loitokitok) that have varying physical, socio‐economic and environmental conditions. The Dairy targets 10,000 women by 2017.

 

Objectives
 

The cooperative wishes to engage the services of a marketing firm to support its ‘dairy agrovet stores’ to:

• Support the dairy agrovet implement promotional tools for farmers i.e inventory management, customer service, translation of trainings into local language, printing of promotional material


• Project the dairy agrovet stores as commercial enterprises addressing customer (i.e. farmer) needs;


• Better connect rural small holder farmers with good quality dairy inputs and services;


• Create a seamless feedback channel for information flow between the dairy agrovet, and farmers

Scope of work

• Develop and implement shop remodeling concepts (those suitable for small store formats)


• Develop marketing strategies that will guide among others: brand positioning and awareness, marketing messaging and route to market, and agent network models, customized to the rural markets


• Establish customer loyalty schemes (e.g. point-based smart cards and others) that are customized to rural markets


• Develop and carry out customer service training

Requirements

• Experience working on marketing, branding and retail for small and medium size enterprise.


• Provide a list of list four clients in the past three years including clients’ name, contact


• Personnel, contact details, nature of contract, contract amount and contract period.


• Membership of relevant professional body
