Sales Manager – Animal Feeds
Number of positions: 1
Role Overview: The Sales Professional will play a key role within this global supplier of animal feeds solutions to assist in managing and administering health, safety, environmental, and security, sales policies, programs and practices, and support management on sales and customer service issues.
Duties and Responsibilities
Regularly schedules appointments with current customers to maintain business relationships with customers and to explain products and services available.
Responsible for generating new business, managing existing business relationships and primary contact for customers.
Prepares product pricing and credit for customers within reasonable margins. Prepares sales contracts.
Works directly with customers to effectively resolve issues and provide technical advice. Coordinates with distributors and production facilities as needed to resolve issues. Reports complaints and issues to the Nutritionist and Regional Sales Manager.
Assists distributors on sales and technical information on animal feeds
Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sale leads. Actively pursues new business to expand the company. Travels throughout the territory to meet with potential customers.
Assists distributors and customers on equipment assignments and promptly and satisfactorily resolves issues.
Coordinates orders from direct customers as necessary.
Effectively manages monthly customer pricing.
Person Specifications
At least a Bsc in Agriculture and over 3 years’ experience of sales in the feed industry.
Diploma in Marketing or other relevant management field will be an added advantage;
Knowledge of marketing principles and ability to accurately apply and use marketing and sales concepts.
Knowledge of dairy market/industry trends.
Ability to research and analyze market/industry/customers and to apply that information to manage accounts and increase sales.
Outgoing, pleasant and easy to get along with person;
A mature person aged above 25 years with a self-driven disposition and high levels of responsibility;
Ability to establish and maintain good client relationships, both internally and externally at all levels;
Good team player skills as well as the ability to communicate clearly and courteously to all internal and external stakeholders;
Must have good communication and interpersonal skills;
Self-driven and able to work independently with minimum supervision;
