I Choose Life – Africa (ICL) is one of the leading Non-Governmental Organizations that has contributed greatly to HIV prevention efforts among the youth in Kenya today. The organization has programs in over 234 institutions (tertiary institutions and high schools) across 23 counties in Kenya and reaches over 1 million youth annually with behavior change communication messages. I Choose Life – Africa is seeking to procure the services of a company/organization to help train parents from Laikipia, Meru and Mombasa on making of Disposable sanitary Towels

THE PURPOSE OF THE CONSULTANCY

I Choose Life Africa is implementing education projects geared towards improving quality and relevance as enshrined in Education Sector Plan. Part of interventions aimed at improving access and attendance is Provision of sanitary Towels to marginalized girls. This is in response to a key finding of girls missing up to 5 days a month due to lack of sanitary towels. To ensure sustainable provision the project planned to build the capacity of parents to start producing this commodity locally. This is to ensure that it is readily available and affordable to the girls.

The purpose of this consultancy is to therefore train 270 parents; 90 from each county to enhance their capacity and competency to make the disposable sanitary towels.

SCOPE OF WORK

The Task for this consultancy will involve:

1. Designing a training Manual


2. Training of 270 parents on making of sanitary towels


3. Providing routine monitoring and periodic technical support to the parents for a period of 6 months after training


4. Develop a Manual for parents on making of Sanitary Towels. Step by step process.

• Training manual Developed

• 270 parents training, their capacity and competency enhanced

• Step by step sanitary towels making manual developed
