Job Title: Business Development Manager (Africa) – Mobile Network Operators
Overview: As part of a newly created team, he/she is responsible for selling our client’s Mobile Money solutions across the African Region.
Sales successes from MNOs are for VMM a top priority for the overall Africa revenue growth.
Role
You will be responsible for:
- Developing a pipeline of prospective Telco customers
- Driving sales towards Telco’s of the VMM solutions:
- Driving RFP replies
- Closing deals with the support of the commercial team
- Meeting a sales and revenue target
You need to:
- employ consultative selling concepts to identify customer needs and build solutions
- assist in designing strategies, messaging and business proposals
- assist with analysis, understanding and collaborative development of the customer’s product strategy and position assigned products within it, through profitability modeling, financial forecasting and competitive analysis
- build a strong sales pipeline and monitor opportunities
- develop and implement sales plans, including business development, marketing and product management in conjunction with internal stakeholders
- create strategic alignment with internal stakeholders
- participate in annual alignment on goals and plan development in assigned region or products
- support key customer relationships
Key Accountabilities of the Role
- Drive revenues for VFMM Africa from New Business (sales target)
- Building the sales pipeline
- Responses to RFP
- Negotiation with the customer
- Assist in building a sales strategy for Africa
Qualifications
- Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Relevant related sales experience in a commercial role in the card and payments space
- Experience executing sales strategies for numerous complex or large accounts
- Proven record of successful sales experience in a multinational environment (by preference Africa) resulting in increased revenues
- Innovative individual, strong team player, decisive and results driven
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills in various settings (countries, different parts of business, varied cultural environment).
- Strong negotiation, persuasion and influencing skills
- Employ consultative selling concepts to identify customer needs and build solutions
- Strong project management and organizational experience
- Motivated self-starter and willingness to get your hands dirty
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in English (multi-language skills (especially French) are an important asset)
- Frequent travelling required.
