The END Fund focuses on delivering neglected tropical disease (NTD) treatments to those in need by growing and engaging a community of activist-philanthropists, managing high-impact strategic investments, and working in collaboration with government, NGO, pharmaceutical, and academic partners. We aim to take a systems approach to understanding, engaging with, and influencing the broad ecosystem of stakeholders working on ending NTDs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & CORE COMPETENCIES
Conceptualization and development of MEL tools and activities
- Assist in the design of comprehensive M&E strategies, policies, frameworks, and toolkits (including performance indicators and benchmarks) through research of best practices and tools and thorough examination of literature, and disseminate amongst the Programs team
- Manage and/or assist in the implementation of specific activities designed to evaluate our programmatic investments, either conducted internally or by external evaluators
- Aid the development and maintenance of ad-hoc MEL tools to compile, analyze and report the fund’s data and progress, including epidemiological, coverage and impact survey data
- Contribute to enhancement of systems and procedures for continuous functional improvement
Data management and analysis
- Oversee specific aspects of MEL within END Fund projects, ensuring END Fund, partner, and donor requirements are being met
- Liaise regularly with Programs colleagues to ensure M&E requirements are understood, completed, and submitted in a timely manner, and provide support to staff members to ensure high quality data collection and reporting
- Propose and implement new analyses depending on project needs; identify methods to strengthen M&E processes
- Conduct regular quantitative and qualitative data analyses on baselines, targets and performance to assess program impact, inform ongoing program implementation and contribute to organizational targets
- Support data management processes in Salesforce and other systems, including database updates and data visualisations, and monitor the development of defined indicators within the Salesforce database
- Travel on behalf of the END Fund up to 25% domestically and/or internationally (when travel safely resumes)
- Any other activities as requested by the Director, MEL
Technical support in survey design and implementation
- Support the supervision of planning, design and implementation of data collection surveys administered by the END Fund’s implementing partners (including NGOs, INGOs and government ministries); support Director in conducting and commissioning evaluations of END Fund programs
- Review findings from data analysis and final reports developed by implementing partners to verify coherence and provide programmatic recommendations, and conduct additional dataset analysis as required
Board and donor reporting
- Liaise with members of the Program team, the Strategy & Operations team and the Investor Relations team to update relevant tracking and reporting tools on a regular basis using Salesforce
- Support development of presentations and other materials to support communication of performance
Learning, knowledge sharing and dissemination
- Support the Director, MEL to develop and implement a learning agenda that assesses, documents and shares lessons with internal and external audiences as appropriate (e.g. annual learning events, communities of practice, conferences)
- Keep up-to-date with research and guidelines related to M&E for neglected tropical diseases
- Support the design and delivery of MEL training and capacity-building activities to implementing partners and/or within the END Fund
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Master’s Degree required in a quantitative field related to M&E, such as data management and analysis, epidemiology, biostatistics or another relevant discipline
- Minimum of five years of directly relevant experience in M&E, research, survey implementation and/or epidemiological work (essential), with at least two years in the global health sector working in NTDs, infectious disease, disease elimination or similar practice (preferred but not required)
- Experience developing and implementing M&E metrics and tools, including indicator development, data collection, and quantitative and qualitative analysis. Epidemiological survey design, analysis, and management in low-resource countries is preferred
- Proven experience in statistical analysis in an epidemiological context, with strong attention to detail
- Experience in using R or STATA statistical coding packages
- Proficiency in data cleaning, merging and analysis of programmatic datasets, ideally with Salesforce and Tableau
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational, time management, and analytical capabilities
- Proven ability to work independently using own initiative
- Passion for and commitment to the END Fund’s humanitarian mission
- Ability and willingness to travel, once travel safely resumes
- Authorization to work in Kenya, United Kingdom, or United States, without visa sponsorship, required
