Chogoria hospital was started by the Scottish missionaries back in 1922 with the help of Mr and Mrs. Irvine being in charge. Chogoria hospital is on a side-road that branches off Embu – Meru highway about 2km from the highway. Chogoria hospital was built in a serene environment around 200km north of Nairobi city. It is situated within the fast-growing Chogoria township in the Mwimbi division, Maara district in Tharaka – Nithi county.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor cancer diagnosed patients and prescribe the required medication.
- Establish a compassionate environment by providing clinical care services, emotional psychological and spiritual support to patients, friends and families.
- Promotes patients independence by establishing patient care goals, teaching patients, friends and family to understand medications and self care skills
- Develop patient care plans
- Develop system management protocols
Required Academic and Professional Qualifications
- Must have a Diploma in Clinical medicine and surgery from a recognized institution
- Must have a Higher Diploma in Clinical Oncology from a recognized institution
- Must be registered by the Clinical Officers Council and the license should be valid.
- Training in ACLS AND ATLS will be an added advantage.
- Over 1 year work experience an added advantage
- Have a certificate in any computer application from a recognized institution
