All positions report to Head of Business Development and are based at the Corporate Head Office at West End Towers in Nairobi
 

Proposals & Marketing Manager

1 Position

 
In addition to deputising for the Head of Business Development, the successful applicant will be accountable for analysing the regional opportunity landscape, identifying opportunities, engaging with existing and potential customers from prospecting stage, bid preparation stage, follow up and contract negotiation, successful delivery and project closure. 

He/she will be a highly seasoned networker with in-depth understanding of the regional construction sector and a good understanding of the international construction market.

As a minimum, you will have:

• Either Engineering qualification with strong sales, marketing and people management skills or Marketing background with good grasp of engineering projects


• At least 7 years’ experience in a business development role with a leading engineering or construction company


• Excellent networker with demonstrated ability to create and nature strong personal relationships locally and internationally


• Excellent verbal, written communication /presentation skills


• Demonstrated track record of developing project and construction business


• Astute negotiator with strong financial acumen


• Ability and flexibility to travel extensively

Senior Estimating Engineer / QS – Roads, Highways & Bridges
 

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying opportunities, preparing and submitting winning bids for roads, highways and bridges. 

He/She will have demonstrated capability and experience in handling multiple tenders while at the same time providing leadership to the roads tendering team

As a minimum, you will have:-

• University degree in Civil Engineering or QS with 5 to 10 years’ experience in roads, bridges and highways construction


• Practical/hands on construction experience


• Experience working with KURA, KERRA, KENHA and the Kenya Roads Board and other regional authorities


• Strong sector working relationships and networks


• Proven track record ofleading preparation ofwinning bids and evaluation of tenders


• Experience in managing roads contracts using FIDIC will be an added advantage

Senior Estimator / QS – Commercial & Industrial Buildings
 

Successful candidates will take responsibility for preparing and submitting winning bids for industrial and commercial buildings.

As a minimum, you will have:

• University qualification in Civil, Structural Engineering or QS with 5 to 10 years’ relevant experience in buildings, mixed use, commercial developments and manufacturing facilities


• Practical construction experience


• Strong sector relationships and networks with developers, consultants and quantity surveying firms


• Proven track record of preparing and leading preparation and evaluation of tenders


• Experience in managing building contracts using FIDIC and JBC will be an added advantage

Senior Estimating Engineer – Power Generation & Transmission
 

Successful candidate will take responsibility for preparing and submitting winning bids for Power Generation and Transmission. 

As a minimum, you will have:-

• Qualifications in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 5 to 10 years’ relevant work experience in the Power sector


• Experience with power generation and power transmission (transmission lines and substations)


• Strong sector working relationships and networks with KenGen, GDC, IPPs, local and international power developers and consultants


• Proven track record of preparing and leading preparation of winning bids and evaluation of tenders

Senior Estimating Engineer – Heavy Civil
 

Successful applicant will be responsible for preparing and submitting winning bids for heavy civil construction projects. 

As a minimum, you will have:

• Civil Engineer or QS with 5 to 10 years’ experience in heavy civils such as Dams, Hydro-power, railways and mining


• Practical construction experience


• Strong sector working relationships and networks


• Proven track record of preparing and leading preparation of winning bids and evaluation of tenders
