Reports to (Job Title): Head Oncology & Specialty Franchise, Africa Cluster
Job Purpose
Support Head Oncology and Specialty in driving transformational growth of the Oncology franchise through leading strategic planning integrating three key areas of drive and provide support to all Country Groups: Brand strategy and general promotional activities, optimization of FF effectiveness, and Market Access.
Possesses a cross functional mind-set to challenge and stimulate Marketing and Sales in Oncology Africa, successfully support the success of the Cluster through each of the Country Groups.
General background: As part of a recently created Oncology Team in the Africa cluster (AC), we expect the associate to develop and drive the success of our franchise, in an economically fast growing environment.
The expansion of the Oncology Franchise will be driven by products launches expected in the short and mid-term, maximization of the newly acquired GSK portfolio and geographical expansion on top of current market growth.
This position has a high visibility and offers good career perspective to talented and successful people.
Major Accountabilities
Marketing
- Devise the long-term strategy for the Franchise’s product portfolio and fit of the organization with market/customer requirements.
- Set the strategic direction for Marketing, Selling, M&S Management and Product Training, and gain alignment with key stakeholders in Marketing, Sales and Brand Franchises to determine overall gaps in performance or anticipate future needs respective to skills/behaviours in those areas.
- Follow up with the monthly spot landing estimates, forecast risks and opportunities for brands.
Field Force Effectiveness
- Drive key Field Force effectiveness projects and embed systematic FF assessments within Country Groups.
- Assess Field Force structures and incentive systems and ensure transparency and appropriate monitoring of QTQ parameters at sufficient quality level
Market Access
- Coordinate with Franchise Heads to work with local influencers to improve access to and reimbursement of promoted/new launch drugs.
- Lobbying, media tools, solid relationship buildings are important skills.
Others
- Supports Oncology business operation management, manage P&L as well as drive productivity; facilitate the communication and alignment with Oncology Regional/ Global organization.
- Lead strategic business projects, develop high growth plan for promoted products and engage the country teams to pursue business opportunities so as to deliver required business results.
- Share best practices, develop strategies and programmes to support the business objectives, and ensure alignment between Sales and Marketing in countries.

- Drive behavioural improvement in the customer portfolio toward our brands
- Relevant brand strategies and adapated promotional material and activities across Cluster
- Drives successfully the IPS process and tactical planning
- Develop a SFE mindset and increase the QTQ
- Optimal pricing of our brands maximizing the revenue
- KOL and KA organized management

Ideal Background (State the preferred education and experience level)
Education:
- University degree in Science and /or degree in Business marketing or clinical research. MBA preferred
Experience
- 8-10 years sales & marketing experience within pharmaceutical industry, incl. 5 years in management position;
- Strong leadership skills to direct a team of marketing staff and cross-functional team
- Well-developed planning and resource allocation skills;
- Strong communication and negotiation skills;
Languages: English and French.
