The Kenya Integrated Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (KIWASH) project aims to improve lives and health through development and management of sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene services in Kenya. Its purpose is to institutionalize catalytic models of sustainable service delivery for accelerated water and sanitation access in specific target counties and to improve complementary hygiene behaviors.
KIWASH is seeking a Finance and Administration Manager (FAM) who will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the finance and administration of the project. S/he will manage project financial accounts, property, vendor agreements, policies and procedures and ensure that they are compliant with DAI internal policies and USAID regulations. The FAM will report directly to the Chief of Party (COP).
Other responsibilities include:
- Providing procedures and policy guidance and interpretation for program staffers as well as sub-grantees to ensure adherence to grant management policies.
- Work closely with other department groups on problems involving accounting systems and financial planning.
- Implement and enforce all policies and procedures related to financial matters.
- Manage the accounting staff and liaison with field and home office management.
- Prepare regular reports for appropriate management as necessary or requested.
Qualifications
The Financial and Administrative Manager will have the following minimum qualifications:
• University degree in public financing, business administration, or similar fields, preferably at the Master’s level.
• At least ten years of financial and sub-contract management with development agencies or their funded programs, including a track record in effective financial, grants and sub-contract management to achieve project objectives.
• Strong understanding of USAID grants and contracts policies and regulations.
• Strong communication skills, both interpersonal and written, to fulfill the technical and managerial responsibilities proposed.
• Working experience in Kenya with strong networks among Kenyan NGOs and private sector entities preferred.
• Strong English writing and speaking skills
