Human Resource Officer
Introduction
The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and busy human resource management.
Responsibilities
The incumbent will:
- facilitate timely leave / absence management in line with policy guidelines by collating all leave plans at the beginning of the year and monitoring implementation on a monthly basis
- run, finalize & provide absence related reports to the other entities for necessary review & corrections before payroll run
- liaise with the Employee Health Coordinator to ensure all sick leave data is documented, captured and acted upon
- extend staff, faculty & locum contracts and update the same on HRIS to enable payroll processing & provide monthly reports for ease of monitoring once approved
- send contract expiry notifications to respective HODs prior to expiry to facilitate timely renewals or closure
- Ensure all work related accidents are reported to the insurance in a timely manner, and that the subsequent reimbursement is done. Provide a monthly status list accordingly
- facilitate issuance of routine letters for staff & faculty to external/ other statutory bodies e.g. Bank, NSSF, NHIF & HELB on request in line with practice
- counsel & facilitate staff salary advance process in line with policy
Requirements
Applicants should:
- have a Degree in Human Resources / Social Sciences or equivalent
- have a Higher National Diploma in Human Resources Management
- be a member of IHRM
- have a minimum of three years’ relevant experience
- have sound counselling & negotiation skills
- be proficient in all MS Office packages with excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills
- be able to work under pressure and maintain strict confidentiality.
