Cost Accountant Job in Nairobi Kenya - Bottling & Manufacturing Company

Our client, a Bottling and Manufacturing Company based in Nairobi is seeking to recruit a Cost Accountant. 

The preferred candidate MUST have prior work experience processing of accounting transactions, operation of accounting system controls, broad knowledge of Kenyan tax and statutory filing. 

The successful candidate MUST be Gujarati / Hindi  /Punjabi speaking.

Key Responsibilities;

• Accurate and timely posting of all service engineers costs into SAP.


• Weekly cost centre reports and forecasts of project related costs and budgets.


• Periodic checking of all accounts within the given parameters of SAP.


• Execute Forecast and planning processes for all business units.


• Scrutinize and test all accounting procedures where spares and/or service is concerned.


• Devise procedural improvements or implement new procedures and controls.


• Assist finance manager in preparing the financial reports and others on SAP.


• Control the fulfilment of cost reduction targets, profitability targets and cost centre results. 


• Monthly input of all accounting transactions into Pastel/SAP including administration and maintenance of all accounts.


• Reconciliation of cash book and preparation of bank reconciliation.


• Identify loopholes, errors and lapses and implement accurate processes and procedures.

Qualifications;

• Must have 3 years plus work experience in accounts department; preferably cost accounting.


• Must have 2 years plus working knowledge of SAP.


• Must have a Degree in accounting /finance or the equivalent (ACCA, CPA-K).


• Must have knowledge of daily accounting/bookkeeping and strong internal controls.


• Must have knowledge of debtors & creditors, reconciliations.


• Must have knowledge of financial & management accounting reports and budgeting.


• Must have a good understanding of credit control.


• Must have knowledge of general ledger accounts & reconciliations.


• Strong understanding of the various taxes applicable in Kenya.


• Computer literate.


• Good written and spoken English.

Monthly gross salary: Competitive depending on experience
