One of our client is looking for an Environmental Health Specialist
Core Duties
- Contribute to administration of EHS programs
- Generate and maintain documentation related to EHS initiatives
- Conduct research for the purpose of identifying, abating, or eliminating sources of pollutants or environmental hazards
- May assist in staff training
- Coordinates and participates with work groups and technical committees
- Provides responsive, high quality service to employees, representatives of outside agencies and members of the public by providing accurate, complete, and up-to-date information, in a courteous, efficient and timely manner
- determining if certain emissions standards are being met by a production plant
- examine the company products and operations of a company as a whole and determine if they are environmentally friendly
- identifies potential safety hazards in operations and then report their findings to supervisors, who may be a board of representatives or a senior environmental health and safety specialist
- developing strategies or a plan of action to safely deal with the problems
Education
- Degree in relevant area of study (occupational health, safety or a comparable scientific discipline)
- 5 years relevant work experience
Skills
- Must give keen attention to detail
- Proven analytical skills
- Must be dedicated and committed
- Good communication and writing skills
- Problem solving skills
- Knowledge of complex equipment needed to measure the environment
